Were you one of the millions of women that had your first glimpse of Wild Woman when you read Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, PhD?

If you were like us, you read it again, and marked your book up with notes and highlights throughout the margins, and looked for more books about the elusive and taunting wild woman soul. This is why the Wild Wolf Women of the Web began in 1995, our virtual wolf den, which has lovingly become known as Star Mountain, ... to find our packmates, women who seek out their wild nature and know what it means to howl.

Do you feel called to join us?

There are no right or wrong answers - only your answers. We do not grade these or judge any woman's beliefs. The purpose is to get you thinking about the wild woman, and to help us get to know you better. You might want to use them as part of your introduction to your new sisters in Starlight Springs.

Please consider carefully if you really do have the time and desire to join us. We were started in 1995 and have a maximum membership of 75. Half of our list are long-time members, some from the beginning, others of 2-5 years. We have members from countries around the world, so there is an expectation that new members are willing to learn from our hard won experience some of the ways we have evolved to foster good communication. The main list has a high email volume: 50-160 emails a day is not unusual. Because of the high demand for places in our community, we do not allow lurking. Each member must post at least once every 30 days or be removed.

Once you are there, you will be part of the original wild woman list on the internet. It is a rich environment, one of healing, sisterhood, and challenge. Your inner wild woman will love the women you meet there. And you will have the opportunity to meet some of them in person at our annual Wolfcon.

Before you reach the main list, you will spend time in Starlight Springs (between 1-4 months, depending on main list turnover). There you will meet the Alpha3 of that list, who are charged with creating a similar environment to that of our main list. You will learn about our pack traditions, and also about our list netiquette (as described in the welcome letter on our website, www.wildwolfwomen.com). You will find out if this list is a good fit for you, and we will have an opportunity to do the same.
