This is me at four riding my horse..To the right of Cow Butts my favorite pastime growing up (((groans and grins))) are are sloping hills that lead into my Grandparents land. They owned Rattlesnake Valley. We grew up with rattles in the yard until Dad started making pets out of black snakes and bull snakes....

Now we are ready for my desert I write about so often. I camp in mountains that once were young- Cradled in the Arms of Grandmothers. These are the photos I have been taking this summer. |

Of course I have to add my most recent travels....the grandmothers are from Goblin Valley. I mentioned that my Art was developing from seeing life suspended in time. The first is a siesta and the second are two native woman sitting back to back....and the big hole I saw. Some call it Lake Powell. |

Now you probably want to see some of my Art. I drew an Olive Press from the mission in Lompoc, Ca. Just loved the zebra shadows that give form. |

| The first is a painting I have hung in my living room. It is a watercolor with several layers of rice papers over wc paper. It is about the ambivalence of beginnings and endings. Foreground is background. The second is my rose from my garden. I took over 70 shots this spring to get one that captured the sensual nature of wild woman that I wanted to reclaim.

| .The first I call Hooks from the Abyss. Snakes are
the ancient symbol of the power of woman. The life death life
cycles. Also the Native Americans believe snakes have the power to
TRANSMUTE pain into Ambrosia.
The second one is about the process of transmuting the grief from the white hot roots of my past. |

to myself and dyed my white strip in my center forehead where just one of my cow licks are. See what you get when follow cows around for too long... |
